Commodore 64

The Commodore 64 was an 8-bit home computer first produced by Commodore Business Machines in January of 1982. Different iterations of the Commodore 64 were available, and in total, the system sold an estimated 12 million-plus units. While not a dedicated gaming machine—at least, not until the 1990 release of the Commodore 64 Games System—the Commodore 64 was host to over 2,000 gaming titles. These included hits like Bubble Bobble, Wizball, Project Firestart, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Impossible Mission, and the online interactive Habitat. The various incarnations of the Commodore 64 sold between 1982 and 1994, and the system remains a prized find for vintage computer and gaming enthusiasts.
