Playstation 4

First introduced in 2013, the PlayStation 4 (PS4) was, as one might guess, Sony's fourth home video game console. The PS4 featured several technological advancements over the PS3, including a redesigned controller with an integrated touchpad, 4K resolution capability, onboard Wi-Fi capability, in-system game-streaming options, and the ability for "remote play" from the console to the PlayStation Vita or other supported devices. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, Persona 5, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Divinity: Original Sin II, Overwatch, The Last of Us Part II, and Final Fantasy VII Remake helped make the PS4 one of the most popular systems of all-time. Only the PS2 sold more units worldwide, with PS$ sales reaching totaling more than 113 million. The PS4 was replaced by the PlayStation 5 in late 2020, though the PS4 remains in production.
