Xbox One

First released in November of 2013, the Xbox One was Microsoft's third-generation home console. The follow-up to the successful Xbox 360, the Xbox One was the company's answer to Sony's PlayStation 4. While the Xbox One wasn't as graphically capable as the PlayStation 4, it was nonetheless popular due to features like cloud-based gaming, Blu-ray capability, and a robust Xbox Live community. As a peripheral accessory, Microsoft also launched the Kinect 2.0, which featured improved motion tracking and voice recognition. While many of the system's most popular games were cross-platform, exclusive titles like Sea of Thieves, Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Forza Motorsport 7 made the Xbox One a must-have for some gamers. Later iterations of the Xbox One included the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. The Xbox One was succeeded by the Xbox Series X and Series S at the end of 2020.
